VILLAGE TO VILLAGE Camino GUIDEBOOK
The Village to Village Camino Guidebook is a comprehensive guidebook to walking the Way of Saint James from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela.
This Camino de Santiago guidebook includes full-colour detailed topographical stage maps of each day’s walk with free interactive GPS routes online.
It contains 135 detailed stage, city and town maps in an easy to read format as well as essential information on transport, accommodations and services. It can be an incredibly helpful guidebook.
The guide features contour guides to help distinguish the terrain that will be crossed each walking day, as well as details of cultural and historical areas of significance.
It’s a very detailed guidebook as well as being very light. The guidebook authors decided to have the book cover 31 stages whilst the popular Brierley guidebook is over 33 stages.
I typically never walk to the actual stages preferring to just stop when I am ready stop, and nearly always making sure I stop mid-stage. It isn’t as busy in the Albergue then.
Accommodation reviews in the guidebook
There are also detailed listings of pilgrim accommodation in each town with the following information:
- Albergues
- Hostels
- Hotels
- Prices
- Number of beds
- Open times
- Facilities
- Contact information
This is a great guidebook to the Camino Frances especially if its your first Camino and is a good alternative to the popular John Brierley Camino guidebook.
