Some Pilgrims then go on to Muxia to celebrate their Camino journey with some even burning their walking shoes in a completion celebration on the rocks at Finisterre or Muxia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-11e7e3e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"11e7e3e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Camino FinisterRe Day 1 - overview<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-ce9dd42 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"ce9dd42\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-1c00951\" data-id=\"1c00951\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2b4c3b8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2b4c3b8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Distance &#8211; 11km<\/li><li>From &#8211; Santiago de Compostela<\/li><li>To &#8211; Ventosa<\/li><li>Min\/Max Elevation &#8211; 114m\/253m\u00a0<\/li><li>Elevation gain &#8211; 240m<\/li><\/ul><p>This pilgrimage is an extension that we have added onto the <a href=\"https:\/\/followtheyellowshell.com\/es\/camino-ingles\/\">Camino Ingl\u00e9s<\/a> walking from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela, which was a 4 day walk and decided to continue on the the &#8216;<strong>end of the world<\/strong>&#8216; in Finisterre and through our walking sticks into the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p><p>The Camino Finisterre can be completed in 3\/4 days as as we are doing a short day after finishing El Camino Ingles we&#8217;ll be finishing the remainder of the walk in 3 days.<\/p><p>After completing the Camino Ingles we left Santiago de Compostela after lunch and headed out towards Ventosa. We have approximately 91km to go to get to the &#8216;end of the world&#8217; in Finisterre and are really looking forward to this part of our journey.<\/p><p>Throughout my journey on the Camino Ingles I found a number of abandonded football pitches and the Camino Finisterre was no different.\u00a0\u00a0I found another football stadium, FC Villestere. That&#8217;s 5 Galician football grounds now.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section way and we never took our <a class=\"thirstylink\" title=\"Poncho de lluvia\" href=\"https:\/\/followtheyellowshell.com\/es\/recommends\/rain-poncho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Poncho&#8217;s<\/a> of until we arrived at our destination for the evening.<\/p>\n<p>We walked through forests and villages and were amazed how green this part of Spain is. \u00a0The atmosphere is really lush and green with Camino symbols at every turn you make.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section href=\"https:\/\/followtheyellowshell.com\/es\/camino-frances\/\">Camino Franc\u00e9s<\/a> my son Charlie gives me a special Lego Camino guy to bring with me on every Camino I walk and here&#8217;s a pic I took for him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He has the same Lego figure by his bed and I love this a couple and we booked dinner with them tonight. It was Paella and the meal was fantastic.\u00a0<\/p><p>We had a meal with other pilgrims and our company at dinner was with Maria and Sandy from Quebec and Alabama.\u00a0<\/p><p>As nearly always on the Camino we talked about our journeys and travels so far and also covered off the question that is always asked &#8216;<strong>Why are you walking the Camino<\/strong>&#8216; ?<\/p><p>Our host at Casa Camino Santiago was Julian and his wife and they were amazing ! The food and conversation was really good.<\/p><p>We had our own 3 bed multiple level room and had a brilliant nights sleep. I recommend staying here if your journey permits.<\/p><p>Having a good nights sleep is so precious on the Camino and you have to take them where you can. The Casa Camino Santiago lets you have that.<\/p><p>We were up at 6am and on the road for 6.45am as we had a long day ahead of us walking 35km to Santa Marina.<\/p><p>The Camino Finisterre Day 1 was a great start after The Camino Ingles.
