Its another fantastic stretch of The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/followtheyellowshell.com\/de\">Camino de Santiago<\/a><\/strong> with some lovely villages and towns to pass through again as well as some rather large mountains to climb.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8de5e6b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8de5e6b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Las Herrerias to Triacastela Overview<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bbdfdca elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bbdfdca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Distance &#8211; 29.1 km<\/li><li>from &#8211; Las herrerias<\/li><li>To &#8211; Triacastela<\/li><li>Min\/Max Elevation &#8211; 663m\/1337m<\/li><li>Elevation gain &#8211; 1071m<\/li><\/ul><div>Once again as it seems to be every day, we are up and out of our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/followtheyellowshell.com\/de\/herbergen-auf-dem-jakobsweg\/\">albergue<\/a><\/strong> at 6am in the morning and believe todays we will be walking our <b>millionth step<\/b> after 23 days of hard walking.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><p>One of the most picturesque and rewarding sections of this ancient trail is the stretch from Las Herrer\u00edas to Triacastela. Coffee and chocolate cake ! \u00a0Well that&#8217;s all they had !<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-82a59fe elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"82a59fe\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">How long is this section from Las Herrerias<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2d51e13 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2d51e13\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The segment from Las Herrer\u00edas to Triacastela spans approximately nearly 30 kilometers and has some steep climbs but it is a manageable and enjoyable walk for most pilgrims.\u00a0<\/p><p>The trail winds through breathtaking landscapes, encompassing lush valleys, rolling hills, and quaint villages.\u00a0<\/p><p>Whether you are an experienced hiker or a first-time pilgrim, there is a certain amount of \u00a0physical exertion needed but it also has the opportunity to soak in some magnificent surroundings.<\/p><p>We were also looking forward to passing through the hobbit style hamlet of O Cebreiro which we have heard about for the last few days from other Pilgrims.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-77ba904 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"77ba904\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">O Cebreiro<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a992fe4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a992fe4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>O Cebreiro is a picturesque village nestled in the Galician mountains of northwestern Spain and its kn<span style=\"font-style: inherit; color: var(--ast-global-color-3); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-4);\">own for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. It&#8217;s altitude is 1,300m and is a good climb to get there.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; color: var(--ast-global-color-3); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-4);\">It also offers a captivating glimpse into rural life. The village is famous for its traditional thatched stone houses, giving it a fairytale-like charm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>With its historical significance as an important stop along the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/followtheyellowshell.com\/de\/camino-frances\/\">Camino Frances<\/a><\/strong> pilgrimage route, O Cebreiro attracts pilgrims and visitors seeking to experience its unique class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>After stopping in O Cebreiro we had another long uphill stretch today ending at Alto do San Roque, which has an altitude of 1,270m, but for most of the way up it was so foggy we couldn&#8217;t see a thing.<\/p><p>Once we reached the top there is a magnificent statue of a pilgrim which is about 20ft tall and a great spot for a photograph.<\/p><p>Apparently the views from this spot are breathtaking, but with the fog we didn&#8217;t get to see any of them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c414e85 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"c414e85\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" to get to Santiago de Compostela had started.<\/p><p>Did we want this adventure to end ? Today we walked our Millionth step and have been walking for 23 days so far.<\/p><p>We had to celebrate and had a few beers and some wine in the bars and cafes in the centre of town before getting another early night.
